Emirates 777X will have the new First Class, but no showers or on-board bar
In a podcast, Emirates President Tim Clark confirmed that the upcoming 777X aircraft will sport a new Business Class seat based on the current A380 Business cabin, as well as the new First Class private suites which debuted on the 777-300ER in November 2017.
Sir Tim Clark added that the 777Xs won’t offer on-board showers or a full bar like on the A380, but the jets will have a “comfort area” located in the middle of the Business Class cabin, area reserved for First and Business passengers. The First Class section will have 6 fully enclosed suites, just like some of the current 777-300ERs have. In March 2018, four months after the new First Class has been unveiled at Dubai Airshow 2017, we’ve reviewed this game-changing product from Dubai to Brussels and back (video).
The Boeing 777Xs will also offer the new Premium Economy cabin which will debut in December 2020 on the Airbus A380. Clark added that the in-flight entertainment system – an area where Emirates is leading the way and has won many awards for that – will be “spectacular” and will have even more “server power for more movies, music and documentaries”. As a reminder, Emirates has 150 777X aircraft on order (115x 777-9 and 35x 777-8), the order being placed at Dubai Airshow 2013.
